Sometimes it is hard to realize how valuable good health is until, and unless you have to be without it, whether it be on a temporary of permanent basis. In the last few days, I came down with a cold that blind-sided me out of no where. SubhanAllah, there were not even any real warning signs. One second I was hanging out with a good friend of mine, the next moment I was lying in bed thinking to myself that perhaps I should have stayed home that evening….

Thinking back upon this past year, it has been a wonderful one Alhamdullilah. Full of adventures, good as well as difficult times, and perhaps most importantly, a year of personal growth and self assessment. Looking back upon 2007, I can say with a smile, that Alhamdullilah, I feel I am moving in a positive direction. I am not perfect by any means, and in all truth, I can never be, however, I feel I still have many areas of improvement to tackle in the coming year inshAllah, and I look forward to the challenge.

In closing, I am yet again reminded of a wonderful saying…

It has been said that Muhammad Ali became the greatest boxer to ever live because he had great challengers… In order for us to become great people, we too must face great challenges….

I am up for the challenge inshAllah!

Gone… Without a Trace….

One day I will die, and cease to exist on the face of this Earth.

I just hope… and pray… that I will have left behind something of goodness in this world, which will be of benefit to humanity….

If my works, my speech, my ideas, and my hopes can be the spark that will ignite the flame of passion inside the heart, mind, and soul of just one other human being on the face of this Earth, then maybe…. just maybe…. they will be the one who will make this world a better place for the rest of humanity….

I may never be that change…. For I will die soon…. But I can be the one who will send out a spark to ignite the flame….

Feel Good Inc.

I feel good…

No, I mean it, I really feel good. I feel good about everything at the moment. About life, about friends, about family, about work, about school, about humanity. I just feel like everything is going great, especially after getting off the best weekend I have had in quite some time…

Speaking of which… I think I am suffering from Burn Out… Not as bad as I have in the past, but definitely I feel it at the moment. All weekend, my only desire was to do nothing… At the moment, my writing doesn’t even seem to be as inspired as I usually find it to be…

I know, I have this plan that I need to follow through with. After I finish my degree, I am going to take a few months off and head to Iran… Yes I said it you stupid FBI jerks!! Going to Iran, 1/3 of the Axis of Evil, and a terrorist country….  Remember, Iran has a nuclear program everyone!!!

Ok, sorry about that… I am just really upset lately with all this anti-Iran stuff…. Anyhow, yes, I will take some time off and go to Iran and sit in the house my father built for me and my brothers, and write… I want to write a book, or two, or three… I just want to let my fingers flow across the keyboard and see what comes out. I feel I have something within me that I need to let out… And the United States is not the place where it will happen…

But yeah, Iran… I really look forward to it… Time so that I can do some serious soul searching, express myself through my writing, and recover from this painful world….

A “USA Patriot Act” Story

I just ran across this awesome video from out brothers and sisters at MAS Media foundation. It gives a really good perspective on issues that Muslims have gone through since the inception of the patriot act, and does so with some light humor. I hope those who are not of the Muslim faith will have the opportunity to see this, and understand how we, as Muslims, have had to adjust out very lifestyles due to the actions of an ignorant few.
