Disclaimer: Please do not take this video seriously, it is meant to be a parody:)

Don’t really know what much to say about this video, except for you will have to see it to believe it. I found myself chuckling throughout the video. Nice job from Aman Ali in giving us something to laugh at.

Illume Media Making Waves in the Muslim Community

Visit Illume Magazine on the web at www.illumemedia.org

What is Illume Magazine?Illume Ingrid Mattson Cover

Illume Magazine is an independent media publication that aims to connect to the peoples of America and to the global electronic community in aneffort to present the beauty of Islam through web and print media.

Why Illume Magazine?

In recent years, Islam has seen an increase in attention from the mainstream media, but this attention generally presents a distorted image of Islam, which avoids addressing critical issues. The mainstream media is flooded with misinformation regarding Islam, and this is largely due to ignorance. However, the reality of the situation is that a large body of informed perspectives exists outside the mainstream. Illume Media seeks to act as an alternative media outlet for these perspectives.

Why the title, Illume?

Taking from the Prophetic Attribute, Siraajan Muneera, which means an Illuminating Lamp, Illume Magazine has been founded as an independent voice to disseminate both readily available material and original works through one medium as a means for enlightenment of the masses.

The organization serves to connect the hearts of the Ummah since unification is not possible without a connection. To that end, Illume Magazine looks to connect existing organizations in order to make their information available to a larger audience.

In doing so, Illume Magazine wishes to educate, invite, and enlighten humanity to the beauty of Islam and become Muslims in action regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, social status, etc. This is done by providing access to resources including, but not limited to, scholarly articles, discourses, commentaries on current affairs, notification and coverage of community events in various regions and articles on personal reflection. In keeping with the idea of reaching out to a broader audience, there are spotlights on traditional foods from different cultures, forums for art and poetry, literature and restaurant reviews. In attempts to create an interactive experience, readers can view and listen to video and audio of lectures and seek answers and advice from knowledgeable experts.

Iran’s Cosmetic Craze – Al Jazeera English Report

Filed under: Islamic Knowledge, Science & Technology, Women in Islam — americanmuslim @ 11:49 am

Changing the creation of Allah? Seems quite questionable of an act if you ask me. Being of Iranian heritage, and having visited Iran many times in recent years, I can safely say that Iranians don’t get their noses altered for mainly medical reasons, but rather to look more Western. If that is the case, how can any of them answer to Allah (God) on the Day of Judgement as to the reason they altered the way Allah (God) created them. Truly, I am dumbfounded.

A Critique – Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Filed under: Politics, Women in Islam — americanmuslim @ 12:59 am

This brief critique is based upon the interview of Ayaan Hirsi Ali from the link below. The link will give you a brief synopsis of who Ayaan is as well.

That being said, I have, first of all, not heard another human being in my life use more cliched statements about the United States of America than this woman. Of course, she is an immigrant, but that is quite a sorry excuse for this seemingly indoctrination that she is preaching. By the end of this interview, I was utterly sick at my stomach, to think that she not only believes as strongly as she does in the “beauty” of the American Dream, but also that she was blindly believing that American democracy is the best form of government in the world.  Talk about wanting to scream at the top of my lungs!!!

Not only that, but Ayaan truly does not have a proper understanding of the religion of Islam. It was her OPINION that because Islam at its core is submission to Allah (God) and the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah, that somehow Muslims imagination, creativity, and freedom were cut off due to that fact. I was, in fact surprise, and quite pleased to hear the interviewer questioning her belief in that, and was doubly surprised to hear that her answer was just as bad, if not worse than answers of anti-Islam preachers and teachers. Clearly Ayaan knows many simple facts about Islam, and can spout off her opinion of the improper way supposedly Muslim governments run their countries, but it is very clear, and very obvious that she knows very little about Islam beyond her misconceptions.

In a nutshell, that is my critique of Miss Ali. She, in no way, shape, or form, represents even the slightest opinion of what Islam is or Muslims believe. Truly it is Muslims who leave the faith such as this, and attack their former way of life with such a vengeance that need the Guidance and Mercy of Allah the most. May Allah guide us all, ameen!
